former Tucsonan who served in an elite unit in the Israeli army is coming back to town to deliver a brain exercise workshop on Sunday, March 11.

Chabad of Tucson's 2012 Lecture Series will welcome its third guest speaker this coming week for a workshop for adults (men & women) focused on stress management.

The instructor, Dr. Gill Heart, who holds a PhD degree in Bio-Medical Engineering, has served in a Special Forces Commando unit in the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) where he learned to successfully maintain and maximize performance even under extreme circumstances.

At the workshop, to be held at 7:00 PM at Cong. Young Israel, 2443 E 4th Street, he will be presenting techniques to apply and implement those methods to improve our response every day stressful events.

"Special operations require dealing with stressful circumstances. Being physically fit helps, but falls short of being the solution," the former resident of Tucson points out. "Ironically, it is all in your mind."

"All of us are exposed to some level of stress. It can take place at work or at home, with friends or family, due to internal or external triggers; often caused by financial, health or family-related stressful circumstance," says Dr. Heart.

"You do not have to go through Special Forces Commando training in order to implement and practice these techniques," says Heart. "Nor do you have to find yourself in a life threatening situation in order to find the strength to stay in control. Rather it is applicable to and can be practiced by everyone, and in practically any situation."

In parallel to his business career and over the past 11 years, Dr. Heart has been on a journey of discovering his Judaism. With the guidance of Rabbi Yossie Shemtov and Rabbi Rami Bigelman, Dr. Heart has become fully observant with a keen study of Torah.

Dr. Heart developed MinInControl™ combining his elite, Special Forces, IDF training and experience and his clinical and business knowledge and experience with knowledge of Jewish teachings.

The fundamental concept behind MindInControl™ is how to become an optimal operative both in the corporate and personal environments. In other words, be trained - through changing neural wiring and thought processes - to control emotional responses to stress triggers.
