Camp round-up - second week: We learnt boxing but also about respecting (our parents). And a visitor helped us celebrare the 4th of July in full color.

What a week we had! We started off with a real bang - literally. We put our little fists together and practiced boxing. We was so much fun stretching ours arms and give it all we got!
When then hit the slip 'n slide and a water slide into a baby pool. That was refreshing on such a hot summer day. We ended off the day with a game of barn yard and not to forget the morning praying and learning some Torah.
Tuesday morning I put my camp green shirt on but when I got to camp I heard the trip was canceled because a big rain storm was coming. I was so bummed but we had a great day even without a trip! We made our very own rock candy and got to pick what color we want it to be. It will be ready in a week. I hope mine comes out really big!
We then moved on to work on our magnificent crayon project. First we picked our crayons. Some chose many colors, others chose a theme color. Then we peeled them and finally we glued them down on a canvas and blow dried them till they melted. Oh my spiky does it look cool!
As I was walking into camp the next day, I walked right into something. Boy, did that frighten me but as I looked up I saw the red and blue streamer! I had forgotten it was July 4th, how unpatriotic of me. But don't you worry, Camp Gan Izzy was in the 4th of July spirit (although our counselors are Canadian who celebrate Canada Day on July 1!).
We had a visitor come all the way from Czechoslovakia. I forgot her name because it was so long. We all just called her Mrs. Z, for short. She helped us bake red and blue cupcakes!
And until they were ready, Mr. Mad Science came back and taught us all about dry ice. When he left it was time for our cupcakes to be iced with white icing and then we topped it off with red and blue sprinkles, those were the best cupcakes ever! Will Mrs. Z be back next week?
Thursday we learnt all about respecting mom and dad, one of the 10 Commandments we got on Mount Sinai. We made a do not disturb sign for our parents' door, mine was blue and I decorated it with red and green puff paint. I hope mom and dad like it.
While we waited for them to dry, we had a rubber band hunt and then we each got to make our own rubber band ball! When it was finally sunny, we all grabbed our swimming gear and took off to the cool waters of the pool.
On Friday, we quickly left to… Fantastics! What fun! I went on the bumper cars like a milliondy six times! When we got back to camp, we made soap explode and then reshaped them. And to end off an awesome week , Rabbi Yudi came to tell us a story for Shabbos party and I can’t wait to come back ne xt week and see what Gan Izzy has in store for me!
