Featured volunteer opportunity in Tucson:
Seeking Jewish Visitation in Prison
Aleph Visitation Circle (AVC) is a new program that the Aleph Institute recently launched; enabling one to visit Jewish inmates. These visits are held in the visiting room and create an everlasting impact and difference to those going through a difficult time in need of friendship and a listening ear.
In cooperation with Chabad Tucson, 13 Jewish inmates have been identified at the United States Penitentiary, Tucson and are in need of volunteers to visit each of them on occasion.
To date, 110 prisoners have received personal visitors across the country - in addition to the group visits by rabbis and chaplains. The goal is to reach every Jewish prisoner and remind them, wherever they find themselves, they are not alone or forgotten.
To volunteer for AVC, click here or contact Sarah at 310-598-2142 Ext 231 or [email protected]. They will facilitate a visit based on the volunteer's schedule and time that works best for him/her.
